EoS Fitness Purchases the Texans Fit Gym Chain

by

EoS Fitness announced on April 6 that it had purchased Texans Fit, a five-gym chain owned by the Houston Texans NFL team and fitness company M6 Football.

The purchase price was not made public.

M6 Football is owned by Mark Mastrov, the former CEO and founder of 24 Hour Fitness. Mastrov has partnered with several NFL teams to open gyms branded with their teams, promising members can work out like the pros. According to Front Office Sports, which featured the growth of these NFL-branded gyms in an article in 2020, pricing at these clubs can range from $49 to $99 for individuals and $124 for families. EoS Fitness club memberships begin at $9.99 per month.

According to EoS Fitness, the company will have information on membership packages after updating its members in the coming weeks.

Each club will be rebranded as EoS Fitness, and the company is evaluating potential upgrades and renovations, as well as day-to-day operations.

The acquisition increases EoS Fitness’ total club count to 75 open gyms and expands the company’s presence in Texas.

EoS Fitness relocated its headquarters from Phoenix to Dallas in May 2022, making Texas the company’s new home. According to the announcement, the move was made to provide a more centralized location for national support to its gyms as the company plans to expand across the country.

EOS Fitness received a $120 million one-loan debt facility from New York-based lender Golub Capital in January 2019 to refinance and eventually expand its club footprint in the United States. EoS had 30 locations in Phoenix, Las Vegas, and Southern California at the time. It now has 75 clubs across the states of Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, Texas, and Utah.

According to Rich Drengberg, CEO of EoS Fitness, the acquisition of Texans Fit is part of the company’s ongoing growth plans in existing and new markets through 2023.

EoS plans growth in states where it already has a presence as well as expansion into new states, with more than 100 gyms planned to open through 2028, giving the company more than 200 locations by that time, according to the announcement.

This year, EoS Fitness will open more than 15 new locations. It opened its first Texas location earlier this year and will open another Houston-area gym in Spring, Texas, later this month.

The company expects to open more than 50 new gyms in the Greater Houston area and the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex over the next five years.Texans Fit had approximately 120 employees working in its gyms. All gym-level employees have been given the option to continue working for EoS Fitness following the acquisition, and gym services will continue unabated.
