Home services company Tetra has successfully raised $10.5 million in a seed funding round led by Greycroft, Gutter Capital, Lerer Hippeau, and 1sharpe Capital. The funds will support Tetra’s expansion into new markets, including New York and California, and further development of its proprietary technology designed to assist homeowners in transitioning from fossil fuels to clean energy.

Tetra aims to simplify the process for homeowners seeking more efficient home energy solutions amid rising energy costs and extreme weather conditions. The company’s technology allows homeowners to input their address, receive an instant price quote, and explore available state and federal incentives. Tetra’s platform then connects customers with qualified local contractors, streamlining the process and creating cost savings of up to 30% compared to average contractors.

Max Veggeberg, CEO and Founder at Tetra, emphasized the overwhelming nature of the home heating and cooling buying process for many homeowners. Tetra’s platform aims to guide households through this complex transition by leveraging technology, a vetted contractor network, and available government incentives.

Tetra’s platform provides a seamless buying and installation process, simplifying the consumer transaction experience. The company plans to invest in further automating end-to-end workflows for installers, enhancing the administrative aspects of sales, inventory management, system design, and installation.

John Elton, Partner at Greycroft, expressed excitement about Tetra’s ability to simplify the task of navigating technology options and government incentives for consumers. As part of the investment, Elton will join Tetra’s Board of Directors.

Tetra, led by CEO Max Veggeberg, aims to accelerate the clean energy transformation by assisting homeowners in transitioning from fossil fuel heating and cooling systems to high-efficiency heat pumps. The company empowers homeowners by providing environmental options, improving their overall experience, and coordinating the installation of home improvement projects. Tetra also aims to support contractors by automating administrative tasks, allowing them to focus on delivering installation excellence and customer satisfaction.
