The Timken Company, a global leader in engineered bearings and industrial motion products, has completed the acquisition of Des-Case Corp., a manufacturer of specialty filtration products for industrial lubricants based in Nashville, Tennessee. The transaction is part of Timken’s strategy to expand its industrial motion product portfolio and enhance its offerings.

Des-Case, founded in 1983, specializes in providing branded filtration solutions for industrial lubricants to customers across various industrial end markets. The company’s revenue for the calendar year 2023 is estimated to be around $40 million.

Des-Case offers a range of products, including breathers, filter elements, condition monitoring solutions, lubrication storage equipment, and filter systems that cover the entire lubricant lifecycle. These solutions are designed to improve equipment reliability, increase profitability, and have environmental benefits by reducing downtime and extending the useful life of industrial systems.

This acquisition aligns with Timken’s focus on providing innovative and complementary products that cater to the needs of its customers. It also opens up synergy opportunities, including cross-selling opportunities and international expansion.

Des-Case, which employs approximately 120 people, operates manufacturing facilities in both Tennessee and the Netherlands. Timken financed the transaction using a combination of cash on hand and its existing revolving credit facility.

Christopher Coughlin, Timken’s Executive Vice President and President of Industrial Motion, highlighted the strategic significance of the acquisition, noting that Des-Case’s technical leadership in branded filtration solutions aligns well with Timken’s automatic lubrication systems, providing customers with a more comprehensive offering.

This acquisition is expected to strengthen Timken’s position as a leading provider of industrial motion products and solutions, enhancing its ability to meet the evolving needs of customers across diverse industries.
