Research Grid Raises $6.5M to Streamline Clinical Trials with AI

by

Research Grid (R.grid) raises $6.5 million to make clinical trials admin-free. R.grid is the automation engine for admin-free clinical trials. Far too many trials fail because of delays, errors, or weak patient engagement caused by legacy software and manual processes. Our mission is to enable faster, more successful clinical trials for everyone by engineering smart software that safely automates back-office admin across the full research lifecycle, from patient sourcing to study close.

AI-driven startup Research Grid has raised $6.5 million in a seed funding round led by Fuel Ventures, with additional support from Arve Capital, Ada Ventures, Morgan Stanley Inclusive Ventures Lab, and others. This funding enables Research Grid to advance its mission of accelerating clinical trials through automation and reducing the inefficiencies caused by legacy software and manual trial management.

Research Grid’s AI-powered products, Inclusive and TrialEngine, offer an all-in-one solution for managing trial workflows, from patient recruitment to data management. Founded by Dr. Amber Hill, a former medical researcher with a background in AI, Research Grid’s tools address pain points common to clinical trials, including delays in patient recruitment and administrative inefficiencies.

Through its Inclusive platform, the company facilitates patient recruitment and engagement by connecting researchers with a vetted network of over 91,000 global communities covering 2,050 medical conditions. TrialEngine complements this by automating data processing and administration throughout the trial. Research Grid’s customers report significant gains, with trial timelines cut by months, costs reduced by 45%, and patient engagement increased by 145%.

With this new funding, Research Grid plans to enhance its AI automation capabilities, expand its engineering team, and grow its marketing and sales presence in the U.S. and Asia.
