Chronus, a Seattle-based company offering an employee development platform with mentorship and ERG management, has acquired Imperative, another Seattle-based platform focused on employee engagement.

The financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

By acquiring Imperative, Chronus aims to:

  • Provide personalized insights for employees and employers through a proprietary purpose assessment
  • Increase user engagement with guided conversation technology
  • Enable customers to track the impact of purpose-driven conversations on employee engagement

Chronus, led by CEO David Satterwhite, helps companies address workplace disengagement and employee turnover through mentoring and development solutions. This acquisition enhances Chronus’s ability to help employees find and activate their purpose at work, thus improving engagement and productivity.

Founded in 2014, Imperative offers a purpose activation platform used by companies like WebMD, Roche, and GE. Its Purpose Assessment and guided conversations help employees build meaningful relationships and grow professionally.

With this acquisition, Chronus plans to integrate Imperative’s technology into its platform over the next year, aiming to better support employees in finding purpose and improving their work-life balance. All Imperative employees will join Chronus and continue their work within new teams.
