Aspinity, a leader in near-zero power AI solutions, has secured $5 million in Series B funding from existing investors Anzu Partners, Birchmere Ventures, Mountain State Capital, and Riverfront Ventures. The round, which brings Aspinity’s total funding to over $19 million, also includes new strategic investor Unitrontech, a leading distributor of automotive semiconductors and a partner of major automotive manufacturers.

Aspinity was founded in 2015 and has developed the RAMP™ (Reconfigurable Analog Module Processor) technology platform. This platform merges the benefits of ultra-low power analog processing with machine learning and software programmability.

Aspinity’s first product, the AML100 analog machine learning core, allows always-on sensing solutions with near-zero power consumption. The chip accurately detects and infers from raw analog sensor data and can keep digital processors asleep until meaningful data are detected.

Aspinity and Unitrontech aim to deliver high-performance, near-zero power after-market and integrated AI solutions for automotive applications. One potential application is an always-on dashcam that uses sensor fusion and AI to detect and record only important events, conserving battery power. The partnership between the two companies allows for the development of intelligent systems for the automotive market.

The funding will support the expansion of Aspinity’s technology into new markets and collaborations with partners like Unitrontech.
