Zeus Scooters, a mobility firm based in Carlow, Ireland, has purchased Zipp Mobility, a shared e-scooter and e-bike service provider based in Dublin, Ireland, for an unknown sum.

The acquisition will allow Zeus to further expand its presence in the Irish and UK markets, and it follows the acquisition of UK-based scooter-sharing provider Zwings last year.

Zeus presently has over 50 sites in 9 countries (Croatia, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Malaysia, Norway, Poland, Sweden, and the United Kingdom). Zeus’ merged Irish firm will now have 50 workers, and all Zipp employees will be retained.

Zeus, founded in 2019 by Damian Young, debuted an e-scooter sharing service in Germany in 2020 and has since expanded fast across Europe and Asia.

Zipp, founded in 2019 by Charlie Gleeson, offers e-scooter and e-bike services in 9 sites in Ireland, the United Kingdom, and Poland. The company, which has its headquarters at NovaUCD in Dublin, has received finance from Enterprise Ireland, Fasanara Capital, and angel investors such as Brian O’Driscoll and Barry Maloney (Balderton Capital).
