Window Select LLC, a Menomonee Falls-based window and door installation company, has filed for Chapter 11 reorganization in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Milwaukee. The company listed assets of $100,000 to $500,000 and liabilities of $1 million to $10 million in the filing. The company has faced numerous lawsuits from customers who claim to have paid for services that were never completed.

According to the Better Business Bureau, customers reported that Window Select failed to respond to their attempts to reach out for assistance. The company’s unsecured creditors list includes customers from throughout southeastern Wisconsin who obtained judgments against Window Select of $10,000 or more. In its bankruptcy filing, the company said it has more than 1,500 creditors who are also customers, and it is seeking to settle their claims.

Window Select issued a statement saying it is working to fulfill contracts and past-due commitments to over 850 customers in Wisconsin, and that the Chapter 11 reorganization process will provide a means for these contracts to be fulfilled. The company also said it has retained an outside advisor whose customer service team has spoken with 1,100 customers, 850 of whom have confirmed their desire to pursue installation.

The company estimates that the remaining outstanding customer contracts will be fulfilled this year. The company’s largest unsecured creditor is Climate Solution Windows & Doors of Franklin, Park, Illinois, at $1.08 million.
