Radical Forge Announces Staff Layoffs

Indie game studio Radical Forge has confirmed a round of layoffs, impacting an unspecified number of employees.

According to a spokesperson speaking to GamesIndustry.biz, the team was informed of “minor restructuring” within the company, leading to the termination of contracts for some individuals.

“This will mean that there will be a handful of people whose roles or skill sets are no longer needed on current or upcoming projects, and their contracts will end earlier than anticipated,” the spokesperson stated. “These actions will not affect the delivery of any existing projects.”

Expressing regret over the situation, the spokesperson emphasized the company’s close-knit culture and commitment to supporting affected employees in finding alternative roles.

Founded in 2017 by CEO Bruce Slater and CTO Freddie Baboard, Radical Forge has contributed to the development of titles like Gang Beasts, Sea of Thieves, and Zombie Army 4. The studio also launched its original IP, Bright Paw, in 2020.

In 2022, Radical Forge secured funding from Take-Two’s Private Division Development Fund to aid in the development of its second original IP, currently in progress.
