Holcim US, based in Chicago, has announced the acquisition of Pioneer Landscaping Centers’ sand and aggregate operations. Pioneer Landscape Centers is a producer of landscape and hardscape materials based in Highland Ranch, Colorado.
According to a Holcim press statement, given the increasing rate of building in the Denver, Colorado Springs, and Phoenix markets, this deal strengthens the company’s position by increasing local reserves, eliminating supply bottlenecks, and extending existing quarry production.
The transaction includes 13 quarries in Colorado and Arizona with potential reserves for several decades. The acquisition of Pioneer’s quarry complements Holcim’s recent acquisition of aggregate operations in 2022.
Pioneer will continue to operate as a prominent distributor of bulk landscaping and hardscape materials in the western United States, with 34 retail distribution sites serving commercial, wholesale, and residential customers following the deal.
BNP Paribas served as the exclusive financial adviser to Pioneer, Davis Graham & Stubbs LLP served as the sole legal counsel, and Holland & Hart LLP served as the legal adviser to Holcim.
