Nest Health, a pioneering whole-family healthcare provider, has announced the successful completion of an extended Seed Round, raising over $4 million. SpringTide led the financing, with strong support from additional backers including Alumni Ventures, Ochsner Ventures, and others. This funding injection follows a significant $15 million initial Seed Round in March 2023, led by 8VC and the Blue Venture Fund, with backing from MVP, Health 2047, and Gaingels.
The newly acquired funds will fuel Nest Health’s expansion into new markets and health plans, furthering its mission to make comprehensive healthcare readily accessible to vulnerable populations.
Dr. Rebekah Gee, Founder and CEO of Nest Health, emphasized the transformative impact of extending their reach: “Greater reach allows Nest to meaningfully change the health not only of families we serve, but of populations as a whole. Treating the family as a unit, when and where it’s convenient for them, at home, has the power to radically improve access to quality healthcare for families, in Louisiana and beyond.”
Established in 2021, Nest Health represents a paradigm shift in healthcare delivery, offering the first value-based healthcare practice tailored for families. Nest delivers convenient and compassionate primary care through house calls, virtual care, and round-the-clock medical, behavioral, and social support. Since inception, Nest Health’s services have been made available at no additional cost to thousands of families covered by Medicaid in the greater New Orleans area.
Brad Otto, Partner at SpringTide, expressed excitement about supporting Nest Health’s mission: “Nest is the first to design home-based care for families, and we couldn’t be more excited to be a part of this critical stage of growth for the company and the industry.”
This investment signifies a significant milestone in Medicaid innovation, addressing the pressing need for accessible and comprehensive healthcare solutions for underserved populations. With substantial annual spending and coverage of millions of individuals, Medicaid presents a vast opportunity for impactful healthcare innovations, yet it remains relatively untapped by privately funded solutions. Nest Health’s endeavor aligns with efforts to improve maternal, infant, and family health outcomes, particularly in regions like Louisiana, where healthcare disparities persist.
