General Atlantic, a leading global growth equity investor, announced the opening of a new office in Miami, Florida, today. The Miami office is the firm’s fourth in the United States and its 16th internationally.

General Atlantic, founded in 1980, employs 215 investment professionals. It also has offices in Stamford, Connecticut, and Palo Alto, California.

Since the epidemic, South Florida’s tech industry has been booming as small business owners, wealthy individuals, and remote working professionals travel from other regions of the country to avoid state income taxes and discover a more business-friendly atmosphere. Miami Mayor Francis Suarez and Founders Fund partner Keith Rabois have aggressively advertised the city as a burgeoning innovation powerhouse.
