Equiem, a leading provider of commercial real estate tenant experience software, has announced its acquisition of European workplace management software company, spaceOS. This strategic move aims to broaden Equiem’s reach to more than 25 countries and enhance the features available on its ‘EquiemOne’ platform, resulting in a projected 20 percent increase in revenues.
In addition to the acquisition, Equiem has secured additional investments from notable entities including Hitachi Ventures, BeyondBuild, MOMENI, and Caleus. The exact amount of the additional investment was not disclosed. Equiem has previously raised a total of $8.4 million, according to startup data site Crunchbase.
The newly acquired funds will facilitate the integration of spaceOS’s advanced technology into the EquiemOne platform. Equiem’s tenant experience software empowers commercial real estate landlords and operators to provide various features such as space access control, property information, news, tenant service marketplaces, facilities booking, and streamlined building operations and management.
Furthermore, Equiem’s systems offer owners and operators a comprehensive visualization of operations, enabling more efficient management and operations.
According to Equiem CEO Gabrielle McMillan, the evolving office landscape and the increasing demand for flexible spaces and collaboration in a hybrid model necessitate a unified platform that seamlessly integrates security, access, operations, flex space bookings, events, and community engagement. The acquisition of spaceOS supports this vision and allows Equiem to offer a global platform that transcends traditional workplace boundaries.
This acquisition marks Equiem’s second major strategic move within the past two years. The company plans to pursue additional bolt-on acquisitions to strengthen its market-leading positions in different geographies.
spaceOS’s offerings, including a building operating system, tenant engagement platform, and solutions for managing flexible and hybrid office environments, align closely with Equiem’s existing portfolio. Equiem’s Chief Product Officer, David Adams, highlights the significant benefits of spaceOS’s flex management system for asset managers, enabling seamless management, marketing, and sale of space-as-a-service on a single integrated platform. Equiem also plans to develop a lightweight toolkit to streamline operations in B and C class commercial properties. The extensive access control integration service of spaceOS was another appealing feature for Equiem.
Through the acquisition of spaceOS and ongoing innovations, Equiem solidifies its position as a global leader in commercial real estate tenant experience software while providing an integrated platform that addresses the evolving needs of the industry.
