Citibank fires employee over ‘revolting’ antisemitic social media post

Citibank took swift action by terminating the employment of an individual who posted an appalling antisemitic comment on social media. The incident occurred after the non-partisan group shared a screenshot from former Citi personal banker Nozima Husainova’s Instagram account.

In response to discussions about Israel and the Al-Ahli Hospital bombing in Gaza, Husainova’s comment read, “No wonder why Hitler wanted to get rid of all of them,” accompanied by a smiley face.

The group posted the screenshot on social media, tagging Citi and questioning the bank about employing someone with such views.

Citi promptly responded to the concern, stating, “We terminated the employment of the person who posted the revolting antisemitic comment on social media. We condemn antisemitism and all hate speech and do not tolerate it in our bank.”

The incident has sparked widespread outrage online, prompting Citi to take a firm stand against antisemitism.
