Cherokee Federal Acquires Criterion Systems


Cherokee Federal, Cherokee Nation Businesses’ federal contracting division, announced today the acquisition of Criterion Systems, a leading cybersecurity and IT services company.

Criterion, founded in 2005 and headquartered in Vienna, Virginia, serves as a strategic partner and trusted prime contractor for many of the nation’s most mission-critical environments across more than a dozen federal agencies.

Criterion employs over 450 people in its key areas of focus: cybersecurity, cloud/data center management, IT infrastructure operations, and systems engineering.

Criterion was named to the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing companies for the seventh time in 2021, a feat accomplished by only 3% of businesses. Criterion was named to the Washington Business Journal’s list of the top private companies in 2019, 2020, and 2021. It has also been recognized as a top workplace by the Washington Post and as a Military Friendly® employer.
