BetterVet is a truly mobile veterinary service delivering an easy and hassle-free healthcare experience for pets, pet parents and vet care providers. From telemedicine to in-home visits, BetterVet provides all the expert veterinary services you find in a brick-and-mortar practice but in the comfort of your own home, without the stress, anxiety, and inconvenience.

BetterVet, Inc., a full-service mobile veterinary network, announced today the completion of a $40 million Series A financing round. Alta Partners and industry pioneer Bruce Herzfelder, BetterVet’s CEO and co-founder, are co-leading the financing round.

BetterVet’s tech-enabled model enables a doctor and nurse team to provide world-class medicine to pets in the comfort of their own home. BetterVet’s “white glove” service elevates the veterinary experience to be warm, high-touch, and personalized for each pet and pet parent.

BetterVet currently has offices in 25 cities, including Boston, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. BetterVet will use the Series A funding to expand its presence in existing markets, enter new markets, and launch new services.

Bruce Herzfelder, who previously founded VetCor, now one of the largest brick and mortar veterinary networks with over 700 hospitals; former AVMA president Dr. John de Jong, who is also president-elect of the World Animal Association; and others are among the company’s founders.

Carolina Goncebat, a DIRECTV veteran and MIT Sloan graduate. Their innovative, mobile approach to veterinary medicine promotes a better veterinary care experience for both pets and pet parents. BetterVet’s user-friendly app allows clients to schedule home visit appointments in real time, and BetterVet doctors are Fear Free® certified to reduce anxiety and stress for all family members.

BetterVet’s technology-enabled platform also offers a more modern and flexible doctor and nurse experience in a veterinary labor market plagued by burnout and retention issues. Employees are freed from a rigid schedule tied to brick and mortar hours thanks to BetterVet’s proprietary web and app platform.

Mobile care teams can work around their schedules while earning competitive wages and benefits. BetterVet’s technology enables real-time scheduling and route optimization, allowing employees to devote more time to developing meaningful relationships with pets and their owners.
