ZeroEyes Raises $23M to Drive Deployment of AI Gun Detection Platform

Octave Ventures and Alliance Holdings Lead Funding Round to Address Growing Need for Gun Safety Solutions

ZeroEyes, the pioneering developer of an AI-based gun detection video analytics platform, has successfully raised $23 million in capital, driven by its remarkable growth that has exceeded 300% in the past year. The oversubscribed funding round was spearheaded by Octave Ventures and Alliance Holdings, along with participation from existing investors.

Amidst an alarming surge in gun-related violence incidents, including over 200 reported school shootings in 2023 alone, the demand for ZeroEyes’ AI gun detection and intelligent situational awareness software has surged. The funds secured will be strategically allocated to support ongoing expansion, focusing on research and development initiatives, channel partnership programs, and broader business operations.

This oversubscribed round underscores the urgency for innovative solutions to combat the escalating gun-related violence issue in the United States. ZeroEyes has already deployed its solution in numerous buildings for hundreds of clients across 37 states, particularly within the K-12 education sector and commercial domains such as retail, gaming, and healthcare.

Furthermore, the company has strengthened its position through contracts with the U.S. Department of Defense via ZE Government Solutions (ZEGS), a wholly owned subsidiary of ZeroEyes, which delivers advanced dual-use AI, proactive threat detection, and situational awareness to enhance national security.

Michael Kim, Founder of Octave Ventures, expressed enthusiasm for ZeroEyes’ mission, stating, “ZeroEyes has demonstrated an exceptional ability to execute on its vital mission, and we are optimistic about its future as it continues to achieve widespread adoption and impressive growth.”

Mike Lahiff, CEO and co-founder of ZeroEyes, emphasized the importance of the funding, saying, “These funds will empower us to scale further to meet the escalating demand from schools, religious institutions, businesses, communities, and even the Federal government, all seeking practical, cost-effective, and most crucially, proactive solutions to address the issue of gun-related violence in our nation.”

ZeroEyes’ solution involves integrating AI gun detection and intelligent situational awareness software into existing digital security cameras. The platform identifies instances of illegally brandished firearms and promptly shares images with the ZeroEyes Operations Center (ZOC), which operates around the clock and is staffed by highly trained U.S. military and law enforcement veterans.

If the threat is validated, the ZOC dispatches alerts and actionable intelligence, including visual descriptions, gun types, and last-known locations, to local staff and law enforcement in a matter of seconds.
