Veremark, a leading provider of background screening services, has secured $3 million in a pre-Series B funding round. The investment, led by Samaipata and Stage 2 Capital, with participation from ACF Investors and Vulpes Investment, aims to bolster Veremark’s efforts in client acquisition and technology development.

Founded in 2018 by Angus Bankes, Daniel Braithwaite, Daniel Callaghan, and Nick Johnston, Veremark offers a digital platform that simplifies the process of verifying claims and credentials of prospective employees worldwide, effectively preventing CV fraud. The company’s expansion into the APAC region through the acquisition of Employrite underscores its commitment to meeting the evolving needs of its clientele.

With a significant increase in valuation since its last funding round, Veremark counts major industry players such as OVO Energy, Wise, and Schneider Electric among its clients. The company’s innovative solutions, including the recently launched Verepass—a blockchain-based career passport—empower candidates to own, manage, and share their verified credentials, reducing the need for repetitive checks and saving both time and money for businesses.

Daniel Callaghan, Founder and CEO of Veremark, expressed his commitment to advancing trust in the hiring process and workplace environment, highlighting the funding as a means to broaden global reach and enhance technology.

Jose Del Barrio, Founder and Managing Partner at Samaipata, emphasized Veremark’s consistent ability to add and retain clients across sectors and geographies, positioning the company for further growth.

Tim Mills, Managing Partner at ACF Investors, lauded Veremark’s efficient solution to background screening, citing its role in helping businesses make fully informed hiring decisions and redefining workplace compliance and screening standards.

Overall, the funding represents a significant milestone for Veremark as it continues to innovate in the realm of background screening and uphold its mission of fostering trust and integrity in the hiring process.
