General Catalyst spearheaded the investment, signaling a strong belief in PhysicsX’s engineering-focused AI tools, set to turbocharge tasks like physics and virtual simulations.
The startup, founded by Robin Tuluie, who also serves as co-CEO, is on a mission to revolutionize engineering design processes. Their arsenal of AI tools promises to accelerate engineering and manufacturing workflows, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with physics and simulations. Tuluie sees this shift from numerical simulation to deep learning as a game-changer, unlocking new levels of product performance and transforming engineering practices.
With a team boasting over 50 engineers, PhysicsX has become a force to be reckoned with. The Series A round drew support from key players like Radius Capital, Standard Industries, and NGP Energy, alongside heavy hitters like Henry Kravis, co-founder, and co-executive chairman of KKR.
Jacomo Corbo, co-founder, and co-CEO of PhysicsX highlighted their customer base designing cutting-edge technologies such as wind turbines, aircraft engines, electric vehicles, semiconductors, metals, and biofuels. The challenge, according to Corbo, is that these engineers are pushing the limits of today’s computer-aided engineering tools, creating a sweet spot for PhysicsX’s technology to shine.
The freshly injected funds will fuel PhysicsX’s journey into fundamental research, product development, and customer delivery. Jim Baum from General Catalyst will be joining PhysicsX’s board, bringing valuable expertise, while Jeremy Palmer, former chairman and CEO of QuantumBlack, steps in as chairman, adding further strategic guidance.
