Lacerta Group stated on December 21 that it has acquired substantially all of the assets of Portage Plastics Corporation and PPC Investments, LLC, a Portage, WI-based manufacturer of thermoformed packaging products. Lacerta has maintained around 50 Portage Plastics employees as part of the purchase.

Lacerta has a diverse product line and in-house design capabilities, with an emphasis on customers in the prepared food and fresh produce areas. Lacerta is a world leader in totally recyclable packaging including post-consumer resin, which is becoming increasingly important as its customers look for more ways to satisfy their sustainability goals.
Lacerta intends to make near-term investments to increase capacity and capitalize on this desirable location and excellent workforce. Lacerta has made major investments to improve its production capacity and capabilities at its sites in Mansfield, MA and Chatsworth, CA since joining with SK Capital Partners in December 2020 to support growth while maintaining industry-leading quality and service.
Lacerta will continue to search for possibilities to extend its geographic footprint throughout North America in order to better service its growing customer base.
