DEFINITION 6 (“D6”), a prominent digital customer experience agency located in Atlanta and New York City, was acquired by funds managed by Kelso & Company (“Kelso”). The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

D6 is a digital customer experience agency that uses technology, analytics, and content to build unique solutions for clients that provide measured and anticipated outcomes. They collaborate with clients to create compelling tales that expand brands across a wide range of applications and customer touchpoints.

D6 provides services to its customers through a team of highly skilled creative and technical employees who take pride in producing content at scale and forecasting the specific impact they have on a client’s business using advanced analytics and a willingness to commit to a forecast across touchpoints.

D6 will join with Emtec, Inc. (“Emtec”), a Kelso portfolio business, to develop a worldwide digital consultancy focused on guiding customers through complicated digital transformation journeys. The merged firm will provide a greatly enlarged range of digital services by combining D6’s award-winning creative strategy, technical, and narrative capabilities with Emtec’s complementing expertise in digital product engineering, application development, and analytics services.

Emtec CEO Sunil Misra will lead the organization, which has a global footprint in the United States, Canada, and India, while D6 will be overseen by Jeff Katz and its existing management team. Both the D6 and Emtec management teams will remain key shareholders in the new firm, besides Kelso.

The D6 acquisition closed in September 2022.
