Home Depot is planning to hire more than 1,500 workers in Alberta, Canada to support its busy spring season, the company announced on Thursday.
The home improvement retailer is looking for employees to fill full-time, part-time and seasonal positions, including sales associates, cashiers, overnight freight associates and delivery drivers. Some positions may require experience, but most positions only require an eagerness to learn, the company said.
“We are always looking for talented and passionate people who share our commitment to customer service,” said Jeff Kinnaird, president of The Home Depot Canada. “Spring is our busiest season and we are excited to welcome new associates to our team who can provide the exceptional service our customers expect from The Home Depot.”
The company said it offers competitive pay and benefits, including medical and dental coverage, tuition reimbursement and profit sharing.
The hiring spree in Alberta is part of Home Depot’s plan to fill more than 5,500 positions across Canada for the spring season. The company said it plans to hire 1,300 workers in British Columbia, 900 in Ontario, 700 in Quebec and 200 in Saskatchewan, among other positions.
Home Depot Canada has more than 182 stores across the country and employs about 30,000 people. The company said it expects to hire more than 40,000 associates in Canada throughout the year.
