GoodShip, a Nashville, TN-based provider of a platform for freight network orchestration and procurement, has raised $8 million in Series A funding. The round was led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with participation from Ironspring Ventures, Chicago Ventures, FUSE VC, Cercano Management, 53 Stations, Andrew Silver, Nichole Wischoff, and other angel investors.

The company plans to use the funds to expand its team, accelerate feature development, and support a growing roster of customers, which includes many of the nation’s largest shippers. GoodShip, led by CEO Ryan Soskin, enhances shippers’ transportation management systems (TMS) with a suite of features designed to optimize spending and service outcomes.

The platform’s recommendation engine provides critical performance information, enabling users to take corrective actions directly within the system. In-app messaging and tags help move vital conversations from emails into a centralized, data-driven inbox. Additionally, the platform’s purpose-built procurement workflow and AI-powered rewards optimizer increase the efficiency of bid execution and promote longer-lasting courier contracts.

Enterprises such as KBX Logistics, a Koch company, Kellanova (formerly Kellogg Company), Mark Anthony Services, and Simmons Foods are among the shippers that have adopted GoodShip for their transportation networks. This strategic investment will further enhance GoodShip’s ability to deliver innovative solutions to the freight industry, ensuring improved efficiency and cost-effectiveness for its customers.
