F5 acquire Lilac Cloud, a computer networking startup

F5, a Seattle-based application security and delivery company, will acquire Lilac Cloud, a small Silicon Valley-based computer networking startup.

F5 announced the news as part of its quarterly earnings report on Tuesday.

Its first-quarter revenue increased 2% year on year to $700 million, while non-GAAP net income fell to $2.47 per share from $2.89 per share the previous year.

F5 stock was slightly lower in after-hours trading.
