Dutch Bros, a drive-thru coffee company, and its dedicated customers came together on Friday, May 17, for the 18th annual “Drink One for Dane” event, raising $2.5 million to support the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) and its mission to end Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).
Significant Impact Through Community Support
The Dutch Bros Foundation’s generous donation is a testament to the strong community support for MDA. Morgan Roth, Chief Marketing Officer at MDA, highlighted the impact of the event:

Origins and Purpose of “Drink One for Dane”
Dutch Bros was founded by brothers Dane and Travis Boersma. After Dane was diagnosed with ALS, the family initiated the “Drink One for Dane” campaign to raise awareness and funds for ALS research. Dane passed away from the disease in 2009, but the campaign continues to grow in his memory.
