Discount Tire, a leading independent tire store, announced plans to build a new corporate headquarters in Phoenix after acquiring 35 acres near Loop 101 and State Route 51. Discount Tire purchased the property at a recent public auction held by the Arizona State Land Department. The proceeds of the sale will be invested by the state in the Permanent Land Endowment Trust Fund to help Arizona’s K-12 education.
Plans for a 300,000-square-foot office building and campus amenities are still in the works. Development is planned to begin in stages, with infrastructure improvements beginning over the next 12 months. The news represents one of Phoenix’s greatest economic development partnerships in recent years. Gov. Doug Ducey praised the purchase of Discount Tire, which has kept its corporate headquarters in Arizona since 1970 while expanding operations across the country.
The proposed corporate campus will include the headquarters of Discount Tire as well as the offices of The Diane & Bruce Halle Foundation, a leading giver of philanthropic resources to local communities around Arizona. Discount Tire rated 77th on the list of “America’s Largest Private Companies” in 2022 and has been named a top employer in Arizona several times.
