Amulet, a Madison, WI-based company specializing in portable sensor technology for identifying allergens and environmental contaminants in food, has raised $6 million in a Series A funding round. The investment was led by HealthX Ventures, with participation from Incite Ventures, AllerFund, Mendota Venture Capital, Great Oaks Venture Capital, and notable individuals including Pinterest executive Julie Bornstein and Daydream founder Diede van Lamoen.
Amulet, founded and led by CEO Abigail Barnes, provides innovative solutions for both individuals and businesses through rapid, on-site molecular detection. Their flagship product, Allergy Amulet™, is a wearable device that allows users to test for food allergens on the go. Additionally, Amulet Scientific™ offers a detection platform for commercial use, enabling restaurants, suppliers, manufacturers, and other food industry stakeholders to identify various molecular targets such as food toxins and environmental contaminants.
The company plans to use the new funding to scale its team, expand its detection portfolio, and execute a full product launch to meet the growing demand from its extensive waitlist.
