by

Accenture has announced its intention to acquire Green Domus Desenvolvimento Sustentável LTDA, a prominent sustainability consultancy based in Brazil. The acquisition aims to bolster Accenture’s Sustainability Services team and expand its capabilities in designing and implementing measurable decarbonization strategies. The financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.

With only a small percentage of global companies currently on track to meet their net zero targets by 2050, organizations across industries are seeking innovative approaches to accelerate their transitions toward net zero. Green Domus specializes in providing solutions that help clients incorporate carbon data and insights into their decision-making processes. The consultancy brings extensive knowledge of sustainability frameworks such as the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), voluntary carbon credits, and emerging regulatory schemes like the recently launched Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) in the EU.

Matthew Govier, Latin America Sustainability Services lead for Accenture, emphasized the impact of the collaboration, stating, “Green Domus’ approach to measuring carbon emissions data and Accenture’s suite of advanced sustainability services, such as our net zero transition solutions, will support our clients in building resilient futures.” By combining their expertise, the two companies aim to transform industries, drive growth, and promote the adoption of sustainable business models.

Founded in 2005, Green Domus is headquartered in Brazil and has extensive experience in decarbonization strategies across various sectors, including natural resources, agriculture, consumer goods, and retail. The consultancy provides customized mitigation plans based on feasible reduction targets, offering clients the opportunity to reduce costs while improving sustainability. Their services encompass product lifecycle assessments, materiality assessments, sustainability measurement and performance, and sectoral analytics projects.

Felipe Bottini, CEO of Green Domus, expressed confidence in Accenture’s scale and sustainability focus, stating, “By joining Accenture, we will use the latest technologies to collaboratively accelerate our ability to embed sustainability into long-lasting solutions that address global challenges such as decarbonization.” The acquisition will enable the utilization of cutting-edge technologies to address the impacts of disruption and enhance regulatory compliance.

Green Domus represents the latest addition to Accenture’s portfolio of sustainability-focused acquisitions, demonstrating the company’s commitment to expanding its global capabilities in sustainability strategy, net zero transitions, and responsible value-chain transformations. Previous acquisitions in the sustainability services sector include Avieco, Carbon Intelligence, Greenfish, akzente, and Zestgroup.

The completion of the acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions.
