Transcend Software Inc., a leading SaaS provider of generative design tools for critical infrastructure, has successfully closed its Series B financing round with a total investment of $20 million. The round was participated in by Autodesk, Inc., a prominent software provider in various industries, including architecture, engineering, construction, and manufacturing. Existing investors HG Ventures, PureTerra, and Aspen Capital Group also took part in the funding, along with new investors Arosa Capital and Riverstone Holdings LLC.

Transcend will utilize the investment to expand its customer base, which already includes major infrastructure players worldwide, such as Arcadis, Black and Veatch, Brookfield Asset Management, Anglian Water, Xylem, and Veolia. Over the last two years, designs created using Transcend’s software have positively impacted the lives of more than 100 million people across 65 countries.

Transcend’s flagship generative design software, the Transcend Design Generator (TDG), automates the conceptual and preliminary design of critical infrastructure assets, reducing design costs and timelines while prioritizing the integration of innovative and sustainable technologies.

TDG combines process, mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering calculations and decisions to automatically generate comprehensive and precise preliminary engineering designs for various water and power infrastructure projects. The software generates outputs, including 3D Building Information Modeling (BIM) models, carbon footprint estimates, equipment lists, and expenditure calculations.

Autodesk, as a major investor in Transcend’s Series B financing, is committed to the automation of preliminary design activities and the development of sustainable critical infrastructure. The collaboration between Autodesk and Transcend will make advanced technologies more accessible to asset owners, engineering firms, and equipment suppliers, enabling them to achieve better and faster outcomes.

Transcend will use the funding to accelerate its go-to-market strategy and product roadmap, strengthening its position as a market leader in generative design software for critical infrastructure. The company’s mission is to help engineers, utilities, and technology suppliers design innovative and sustainable critical infrastructure to address the challenges posed by the climate crisis.

The investment is also expected to drive significant growth for Transcend’s business and benefit its customers by providing new product features to support their efforts in building a better and greener world.
