Herself Health Raises $7M in Funding

by

Herself Health, a new healthcare technology firm aimed at providing advanced primary care to women over the age of 65, announced the opening of its first clinic today. Juxtapose, the company’s founding partner, led the $7MM Seed round fundraising. Mindy Grossman, former President and CEO of WW (previously Weight Watchers) and current partner at the Consello Group, will join the board of Herself Health, which was co-founded by Juxtapose and CEO Kristen Helton.

Herself Health is on its way to being the first totally value-based advanced healthcare firm focusing solely on women. The organization connects women’s health goals with their life goals by considering a patient’s physical, emotional, social, sexual, and spiritual requirements. Herself Health doctors begin by doing a detailed interview and health evaluation with their patients in order to develop a care plan that addresses common concerns such as osteoporosis, weight control, and emotional well-being. The organization employs and trains elite physicians in geriatrics, delivering value-based care with an emphasis on patient outcomes. Herself Health was created to meet the specific requirements of women on Medicare aged 65 and up.

Helton provides a distinct set of expertise to the development of modern, patient-centered healthcare delivery. She previously co-created Profusa, an integrated biosensor company, and founded and directed Amazon Care, the corporation’s first entry into healthcare. Amazon Care is a virtual, on-demand service that began with Amazon employees and has since grown to serve other employers and their workforces. Care expanded from an idea to virtual care in 50 states and in-home care in 15 cities with over 100,000 patients under Helton’s guidance. Care has one of the top scores for healthcare services, with a customer satisfaction score of 4.7 out of 5.
