Akamai Technologies, a cloud services provider, has announced its acquisition of cloud-based storage technology company, Ondat.

The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed. Based in London, Ondat offers a Kubernetes-native platform that allows running stateful applications at scale.

The acquisition of Ondat’s cloud storage technology is intended to enhance Akamai’s cloud computing offerings.

The deal is set to close in the first quarter of 2023, and Akamai anticipates no significant impact on its financial guidance for 2023 as a result of the transaction.

As part of the acquisition, Ondat’s founder and CTO, Alex Chircop, and employees will join Akamai’s cloud computing business.
