Urbint Secures $35M Investment to Expand Storm Response Solutions Amid Hurricane Season

by

Urbint, the leading AI platform for identifying and mitigating threats to workers, critical infrastructure, and communities, today announced a $35 million strategic investment round led by S2G Ventures with participation from Energize Capital, Blue Bear Capital, National Grid Partners, Zoma Capital and Climate Investment. The investment will support Urbint in expanding its storm response and resiliency solutions for utilities, addressing the growing challenges posed by an increasingly active hurricane season.

CEO Corey Capasso emphasized the importance of this investment in light of recent storms, saying, “Hurricanes Helene and Milton were stark reminders of the damage that climate change and major storms can inflict on electrical grids. This investment will allow us to enhance our storm response solutions, helping utilities restore power faster and ultimately save lives.”

Urbint’s Storm Response Platform

Urbint’s platform, designed to manage the entire storm and disaster response process, offers utilities a comprehensive solution—from coordinating logistics and managing emergency work to allocating resources in real-time. The platform helps utilities secure contractors more quickly, improve crew accommodations, optimize spending, and reduce power restoration times, all of which are crucial in the face of increasingly severe weather events.

Bala Nagarajan, managing director of S2G’s Energy Investment team, noted, “The higher frequency and intensity of storms pose a critical threat to our energy infrastructure. Urbint’s software provides utilities with the tools they need to adapt to climate change and improve grid reliability and safety.”

Supporting Utilities Nationwide

Urbint’s AI-powered risk mitigation solutions are trusted by major utilities like Southern Company, Exelon, and National Grid. These utilities rely on Urbint to protect underground infrastructure, prevent accidents, and enhance power restoration after severe weather, making Urbint a pivotal player in managing the risks of climate change and improving disaster response capabilities across the U.S.
