Trunk Tools, a New York City-based company specializing in AI platforms for the construction industry, has raised $20 million in a Series A funding round led by Redpoint Ventures with participation from Innovation Endeavors.
Expanding AI Capabilities in Construction
The funding will be used to expand Trunk Tools’ operations and further develop its AI technology. The company, led by founder and CEO Sarah Buchner, focuses on transforming construction workflows through artificial intelligence. Trunk Tools structures vast amounts of unstructured project data and deploys AI agents to augment construction professionals, automating tasks that have traditionally hindered productivity and profitability in the industry.
Introduction of the Trunk Tools Schedule Agent
With the new funding, Trunk Tools is launching the Trunk Tools Schedule Agent, a fully autonomous AI-powered tool designed specifically for the construction sector. This agent provides a dynamic link between scheduled activities and the necessary documentation to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to plan.
The Schedule Agent enhances the capabilities of Trunk Tools’ proprietary AI platform, already in use by leading general contractors and several Fortune 500 companies. It helps construction teams stay on schedule by proactively sensing project issues, surfacing insights, and taking action without requiring additional effort from on-site personnel. The agent integrates with schedule files to independently monitor tasks, providing timely notifications to project managers, superintendents, and engineers about open tasks, discrepancies, or logistical problems.
This innovation further solidifies Trunk Tools’ position as a leader in AI-driven solutions for the construction industry.
