Softwear Automation, a leader in autonomous sewing technology, has successfully closed a $20 million Series B1 funding round. This significant achievement supports the company’s mission to transform the sewn goods manufacturing industry. The funding round was led by BESTSELLER, a prominent Danish fashion company known for brands such as JACK & JONES, VERO MODA, and ONLY. The investment was facilitated through Invest FWD, BESTSELLER’s platform dedicated to fostering innovation and sustainability in the fashion sector. Existing investors, including CTW Venture Partners, SRI Capital, and MacDonald Ventures, also participated in the round.
As part of this strategic partnership, Thomas Børglum Jensen, CFO of BESTSELLER, will join the board of Softwear Automation. This collaboration comes at a pivotal time as Softwear Automation advances towards the commercialization of its fully automated SEWBOT® worklines.
Palaniswamy “Raj” Rajan, Chairman and CEO of Softwear Automation, stated, “Our partnership with BESTSELLER and support from Invest FWD not only validate our technology but also serve as a catalyst for the future of on-demand, localized, and sustainable apparel manufacturing.”
Softwear Automation’s patented SEWBOT® technology offers a fully autonomous sewing solution, allowing products to be manufactured closer to consumers with significantly reduced waste, faster production times, and enhanced cost-efficiency. The new funding will enable the company to expand into new product categories and regions, enhance its research and development capabilities, and scale its production to meet increasing global demand.
Thomas Børglum Jensen of BESTSELLER commented, “At BESTSELLER, we seek innovations that drive progress in the fashion industry, where change is essential. Softwear Automation addresses key industry challenges, including speed, flexibility, and environmental impact reduction. We are pleased to support their growth and explore how this technology can advance our objectives.”
This partnership aligns with BESTSELLER’s broader efforts to enhance its supply chain model, focusing on reducing environmental impact and increasing transparency.
By utilizing SEWBOT® technology, Softwear Automation and BESTSELLER aim to promote more circular and demand-driven production practices.
With this strategic alliance and new funding, Softwear Automation is well-positioned to lead the next era of apparel manufacturing, characterized by faster production, sustainability improvements, and localized manufacturing.
