Paren Secures $3M Seed Funding and Acquires EVAdoption to Enhance EV Mobility Data Platform

by

Paren, a software platform dedicated to enhancing electric vehicle (EV) mobility through unified data insights, announced the successful close of its $3 million seed funding round. The round was led by Base10 Partners, with participation from Founders Network Fund and Luc Vincent, founder of Google Street View and Lyft 5. The capital will help Paren scale its existing data platform and develop new services.

Founded in 2023, Paren aims to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles by offering seamless driving experiences through data-driven insights. The company has been growing rapidly since acquiring EVSession, LLC in early 2024 and has now added EVAdoption LLC, a firm specializing in EV infrastructure data analysis, to its portfolio. Loren McDonald, EVAdoption’s founder and a respected EV industry expert, will join Paren as Chief Evangelist.

Paren anticipates that there will be 100 million public fast-charging sessions in the U.S. in 2024, increasing to over 1 billion sessions by 2030, when an estimated 7.5% of vehicles will be battery-powered. To meet this demand, Paren is leveraging data on EV charging station reliability and other key metrics. Its neutral platform integrates fragmented data from across the EV ecosystem into a unified model, allowing developers and businesses to create more powerful solutions on top of Paren’s dataset.

CEO and Co-Founder of Paren, Florent Breton, expressed excitement about the company’s growth and the addition of Loren McDonald to the team, saying, “We are thrilled to have the support of Base10 and our other investors as we address the foundational aspects of the EV charging infrastructure with unified data insights.”

Paren plans to use this investment to expand its team, enrich its data sets, and scale its platform to support enterprise partners, such as automakers, map providers, and fleet operators. In addition, the company will expand its API access to offer data on pricing, safety, and amenities at EV charging stations, addressing one of the biggest concerns in EV adoption—charging reliability.

Brandon Stritch, CEO of StritchCo, a Florida-based Charge Point Operator and Paren customer, emphasized the value of Paren’s data solutions, saying, “Paren’s data offers unique insights into the EV charging industry that continue to unlock key business opportunities for us.”

Rexhi Dollaku, General Partner at Base10 Partners, highlighted Paren’s potential to tackle the pressing issue of “charging anxiety,” a major obstacle to EV adoption. He added, “Paren has created a platform that we believe is uniquely positioned to solve the charger anxiety crisis.”
