Mitiga Secures $30M Series B and Expands Leadership to Strengthen Cloud Security

by

Mitiga, a leader in cloud and SaaS threat detection, investigation, and response (TDIR), has announced a $30 million Series B funding round as it scales operations and expands globally. Led by SYN Ventures, with participation from existing investors including ClearSky, Atlantic Bridge, Flint Capital, DNX Ventures, and Glilot Capital Partners, the funding will fuel Mitiga’s geographic growth across the U.S. and Europe, enhance its AI-driven platform, and increase Cloud and SaaS integrations.

Strategic Appointments Bolster Leadership
Mitiga has named John Watters as Executive Chairman. A cybersecurity veteran with over 30 years of experience, Watters previously served as President and COO of Mandiant (acquired by Google) and has held leadership roles at companies such as iDEFENSE, iSIGHT Partners, and Archer Technologies. He is also a Venture Partner at SYN Ventures.

Additionally, Robert Rodriguez, Chairman and Founder of SINET and Venture Partner at SYN Ventures, joins Mitiga’s Board of Directors. A seasoned investor with deep expertise in cybersecurity, Rodriguez brings experience from a 22-year tenure as a U.S. Secret Service Special Agent.

Accelerating Cybersecurity Innovation
Mitiga’s innovative Cloud and SaaS security platform has driven exponential growth, securing high-profile clients such as Blackstone, ZoomInfo, and New American Funding. The company plans to expand its sales and marketing efforts, enhance product capabilities, and form new strategic alliances.

As an RSA Conference 2024 Innovation Sandbox Finalist, Mitiga continues to lead advancements in cloud and SaaS security. Its platform delivers enhanced visibility, enabling organizations to detect, investigate, and respond to threats across distributed environments, reducing incident response times by over 90% compared to traditional methods.

Industry Leadership and Vision
“Cloud, SaaS, and identity domains are ripe targets for attackers due to their distributed nature and lack of visibility,” said John Watters, Executive Chairman. “Mitiga’s platform is the future of cybersecurity, equipping enterprises with the tools to automate incident response and protect critical data.”

Co-Founder Tal Mozes added, “With the support of John Watters and Robert Rodriguez, Mitiga is positioned to safeguard organizations against complex threats targeting cloud and SaaS environments.”

As cyberattacks on cloud and SaaS platforms continue to rise, Mitiga’s comprehensive and proactive approach to threat detection and response positions it as a critical partner for businesses worldwide. The company’s Series B funding marks a significant step in its journey to redefine cloud and SaaS cybersecurity.
