Meta (formerly Facebook) has announced new features for Facebook Reels, including longer video length, improved editing tools, and new music options. The company has expanded the maximum video length to 90 seconds, up from the previous 60-second limit. The longer video length will allow users to create more engaging content and tell more complete stories.
The improved editing tools include the ability to add text, stickers, and other special effects to Reels. The new music options allow users to add music from popular artists and genres, as well as create their own original soundtracks.
The new features are part of Meta’s ongoing effort to compete with other short-form video platforms like TikTok and Snapchat. The company has been investing heavily in Reels and other video products, as it sees video as a key driver of engagement on its platform.
In a blog post announcing the new features, Meta said, “Our goal is to make it easy and fun for anyone to create and share great video content on Facebook. We hope these new features will inspire even more creativity and expression among our community.”
The new features are rolling out to users on Facebook and Instagram over the coming weeks.
