Gridly raises $2.6M for its content ops platform

Gridly, a Swedish startup, has secured a $2.6 million seed investment round from Nordic B2B software investor Subvenio Invest, US-based digital media specialist Rendered VC, and existing investors for its cloud-based content ops platform. This platform aims to assist customers in efficiently managing and controlling the increasing volume and complexity of digital content flows, particularly fueled by the rapid deployment of AI.

Jiten Dajee, Partner at Rendered VC, emphasized Gridly’s significance in global publishers’ flagship titles for content production and envisioned it as a crucial platform for powering automated and sustainable content operations in the era of AI-assisted content creation.

Patrik Östersgård, Partner at Subvenio Invest, expressed excitement about teaming up with Gridly to establish it as a key digital content infrastructure company in the gaming sector and beyond. He highlighted Gridly’s proprietary technology, blue-chip customer portfolio, and attractive growth and SaaS metrics as indicators of its strong momentum and potential.

Founded in 2022 by former game developers and serial entrepreneurs Christoffer Nilsson and Mattias Wennerholm, Gridly’s platform enables organizations to manage diverse digital content efficiently, encompassing planning, creation, localization, quality assurance, and publication. With over 100 customers, including leading gaming companies like Rovio, Scopely, and Warner Bros., Gridly serves various verticals, such as fintech, medtech, and SaaS.

Christoffer Nilsson, CEO, emphasized Gridly’s goal to assist content teams in taking control of their content processes, embedding AI capabilities within their workflows to enhance efficiency, quality, and scalability. Mattias Wennerholm, CTO, highlighted the challenges faced by game developers in managing digital content and emphasized the need for a more sophisticated approach to content management, especially with AI’s amplification of content complexity and volume.
