Esper completed a $60 million Series C investment in October 2021, when co-founder and CEO Yadhu Gopalan stated that the firm had roughly 150 people and could easily quadruple its staff in a year. At the time, the company was expanding its physical footprint in Bellevue and planning to create a Bay Area location. Esper now has a presence in Bengaluru, India, in addition to Bellevue.

Esper, which was formed in 2018, assists businesses in updating and managing fleets of internet-connected devices including kiosks and tablets. Taco Bell and the patient monitoring business Spire Health are among the company’s clientele. To date, Esper has raised more than $100 million. Esper claimed to have over 200 paying clients and over 2,000 developers using its technology at the time of its Series C investment.

Several local technology firms have lately laid off workers. In 2022, Seattle-based electric bike firm Rad Power Bikes laid off three rounds of employees, while Bellevue-based digital marketplace OfferUp laid off 19% of its employees in November.
