Chariot, a New York City-based payments company focused on Donor Advised Fund (DAF) giving, has raised $11 million in a funding round led by Maveron. Other participants include Spark Capital, SV Angel, Y Combinator, and notable angel investors Adam Grant, Angela Duckworth, Michael Massaro, and Daffy founder Adam Nash.
The funds will be used to expand Chariot’s operations and further develop its innovative payment solutions.
Chariot is dedicated to facilitating DAF giving through its signature product, DAFpay—a 3-click payment option that allows donors to contribute using their DAFs anywhere online. This solution empowers donors to utilize their DAFs more frequently and in more places, thereby increasing the flow of donations to nonprofits while providing better information to these organizations.
Chariot’s platform supports direct DAF payments for some of the largest nonprofits in the U.S., including the American Cancer Society, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and the Michael J. Fox Foundation. With this new funding, Chariot aims to continue enhancing its offerings and expanding its impact in the nonprofit sector.
