Accenture, a global professional services company, has acquired Nautilus Consulting, a prominent digital healthcare consultancy based in the United Kingdom, specializing in Electronic Patient Record (EPR) solutions. This acquisition will bolster Accenture’s digital transformation, implementation, and optimization capabilities within the healthcare sector in the U.K. and globally.
The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Nautilus Consulting will become part of Accenture’s Health Strategy & Consulting team in the U.K. The acquisition will provide Accenture with strategic and operational consulting expertise, enabling the company to assist clients in implementing and optimizing their digital solutions.
Nautilus Consulting’s team, headquartered in London, comprises experienced professionals with technical, managerial, and commercial backgrounds from both the National Health Service (NHS) and the private sector. Their diverse skill set allows them to bridge the gap between clinical users and IT solution providers, ultimately improving the patient experience, health outcomes, and operational efficiencies while managing costs.
Ashish Goel, a senior managing director leading Accenture’s Health industry practice in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), highlighted the importance of Nautilus Consulting’s capabilities in delivering EPR transformation projects.
He emphasized the potential for Nautilus to leverage its talent, digital capabilities, and strategic insights to harness data and technology effectively, thereby enhancing access, experience, and outcomes of healthcare services. The acquisition will strengthen Accenture’s position as a healthcare transformation partner.
Simon Evans, managing director at Nautilus, expressed the company’s commitment to assisting healthcare providers in maximizing the value of their digital investments. He stated that, with the growing challenges in healthcare, the timing was right for Nautilus to join forces with Accenture and make a more significant impact on the healthcare ecosystem.
Nautilus Consulting has extensive experience in the procurement and implementation of Oracle Health’s Millennium platform (formerly Cerner), a leading digital record system provider in healthcare. This acquisition will enable Accenture to further develop its strategic relationship with Oracle Health, enhancing its ability to deliver comprehensive digital transformation experiences at scale.
